After the success of the University Academic Advising website, Virginia Tech's University Studies sought a redesign of their primary website. They wanted to utilize the design and layout from the Advising website to provide cohesion between the two sites. In addition, they wanted to continue using the Joomla framework for site maintenance and changes. Other features included in the redesign were conversion of PDF forms to online submission, site search capabilities and reorganization of content to be user focused.
ACI utilized the design layout created for the University Academic Advising site as a template to create the University Studies primary site. The home page features key content areas with secondary navigation so users can quickly find the information they are seeking. Content is organized by user type and cross referenced throughout the site. PDF forms were configured using Mach Forms so visitors can submit online and University Studies staff can manage submissions from a backend database.
